“The Chew” Search for the Weight Watchers Chef!

November 19th, 2013Posted by: Margaret Crable

Weight Watchers has partnered with ABC’s Daytime talk show “The Chew” to host a one-of-a-kind culinary showdown: “The Chew Search for the Weight Watchers Chef.”   The contest officially launched on November 18 with an announcement on “The Chew.”

Who are they looking for? Weight Watchers and The Chew are seeing knowledgeable and enthusiastic culinary professionals with a passion for making great tasting food that can support a healthy lifestyle. Ideal candidates include but are not limited to culinary school graduates, restaurant chefs, private caterers, cookbook authors, food stylists, recipe developers or culinary experts with professional experience or formal training.

What does the Showdown entail? Six finalists will be selected to battle it out in a culinary showdown on “The Chew” beginning the week of January 13th.  Each round of the competition will be featured in a weekly segment on “The Chew” during which finalists will demonstrate their culinary skills and healthy recipes based on specific themed challenges. The judges (“The Chew” co-hosts and a Weight Watchers brand expert) will score the dishes and one finalist will be eliminated after each round until a winner is crowned.

Where can someone apply? Submit applications and also review the full details and rules of the contest on TheChew.com.

Why would someone apply? The winner earns a $75,000 one-year consulting contract with Weight Watchers.

How can someone apply? Qualified candidates can upload a resume and short video entry from November 18 through December 8. The video must describe how great tasting food can support a healthy lifestyle and must include a demonstration on how to make an indulgent dish healthier.
