Scott Givot,CCP, Immediate Past President

Scott Givot was born in Chicago and has lived in Oslo, Norway for over eight years. He has worked for 25 years in the food and hospitality industry in the US. Scott is the author of seven cookbooks, translated into multiple languages. In December of 2006, Scott was elected by an independent jury as one of the “TOP 10” internationals, who has settled in Norway and become a role model for other immigrants. He currently serves on the Board to the "TOP 10 Network" to create bridges for integration of the immigrant population into Norwegian society. Currently he is involved in a European Union project called Health (A)ware, creating a Norwegian model in the secondary school system that incorporates food knowledge as a significant component in health and well being and as a vehicle for integration of minority groups into Norwegian culture, while confronting the pandemic of unhealthy fast food and the serious consequence of learning disability. He is an advocate for the preservation of Norwegian culinary heritage and has presented its richness in DVD format, live performance and written works in the US.
A member of IACP since 1989, he serves currently as Immediate Past President of IACP, as well as Nominating Committee Chair and Conference RFP Evaluation Task Force Chair. Prior to this work, he chaired the International and Culinary Experience Committees.
