Discounted IACP Rate
When you contact the Sheraton to make your reservation, please identify yourself as part of the IACP so that you will be placed in the IACP room block. Discounted IACP room rates are available while rooms last, through March 6. IACP has secured a block of guest rooms at the Sheraton at a discounted group rate of $180 single/double occupancy.  The group rate is applicable over IACP’s meeting dates of April 1-4, as well as 3 days pre/post-meeting, on a space-available basis.  All rates quoted are exclusive of applicable taxes.  Current guest room tax is 14.85%.

Attendees are encouraged to make their room reservations as early as possible.  Room reservations at the group rate are available on a first-come, first-served basis to our attendees, while the block lasts.  After March 6, any unsold rooms remaining in the IACP room block will be sold by the hotel on a space-available basis at prevailing market rates.  For suite rates, inquire with Sheraton Reservations. Check-in time at the hotel is no earlier than 3:00 p.m. and checkout time is no later than noon.  Please remember you are responsible for both reserving and canceling your own hotel reservations.

Support IACP and Book Your Room Today at the Sheraton Denver Downtown
The Sheraton Denver Downtown is IACP’s headquarters hotel for the 2009 Conference and where you’ll best be able to connect with your 1,000-plus culinary colleagues. By booking your sleeping room at this hotel you are supporting IACP and helping your association meet its obligations and control attendee registration costs.  As you may know, when IACP books a conference at a hotel, it commits to more than 2,500 guest rooms and hundreds of thousands of dollars in food and beverage revenue and other revenue.  This kind of buying power allows IACP to negotiate the best rates for its attendees, command premier venues in the hotel and around the city, and get great discounts on services and food & beverage prices for IACP events. Every attendee who books a room outside of IACP’s room block compromises the association’s ability to meet its obligations to the hotel, and exposes IACP to significant financial penalties.

So, it’s imperative that IACP members support its association by staying at the headquarters hotel.  By doing so, you will be at the epicenter of the conference and contribute to IACP’s ability to control dues and registration fees and put the association in a strong position to contract for future conferences with the properties and destinations that will best meet the needs of IACP members.

General Information and Policies

Event Locations
Generally speaking the daytime events included in the conference agenda – the section forums, general session presentations, workshops, and meals – will be at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel.  Some of the workshops and master classes will be held at offsite venues as shown in the program.  The optional culinary tours on Tuesday and optional evening events will be held at various locations in and around the city.  The opening reception will be held at the Denver Art Museum, which is within walking distance of the Sheraton.  The venues for all optional events are identified in the program.

About Denver
The perfect blend of outdoor adventure and urban sophistication is exactly what locals love about the Mile High City.  With snow-capped peaks providing the perfect backdrop, Denver is as refined and it is laid back.  And with 300 days of sunshine each year, it’s easy to see why people fall in love with Denver the first time they visit.  For much more information about Denver, go to www.visitdenver.org.

Weather
The average low temperature in April in Denver is 32 degrees Fahrenheit and the average high temperature is 62 degrees Fahrenheit.  The biggest surprise for visitors to Denver is the climate!  Please check the weather before you leave for Denver and pack accordingly.

Conference Attire
Business casual attire is appropriate for the educational and business sessions of the conference and most of the social functions.  For the Awards Reception and Ceremony, however, smart business casual attire is suggested.  Comfortable walking shoes and casual attire are recommended for the optional culinary tours.

Alternative Meals for Vegetarians
There are many attendees, who, for a variety of reasons, adhere to a special restricted diet.  While the IACP is sensitive to these special requirements and works closely with the hotel to provide healthy and diverse meals, the association cannot accommodate every individual need.  However, because the largest segment of the special-diet attendees is vegetarian, the IACP has planned alternative lacto-ovo vegetarian meals for each of the meals served during the conference.

If you are a vegetarian and would like to have the lacto-ovo meals served to you throughout the conference, please check the appropriate box on the registration form.  A special meal certificate, which should be placed next to your setting at each meal to inform the server of your vegetarian meal request, will be included in your onsite conference registration materials.

Special Needs
For attendees with limited mobility, scooter and wheelchair rentals are available by contacting ScootAround Inc. at their toll-free hotline (888) 441-7575.  You can also submit a rental inquiry online at www.scootaround.com or by fax at (204) 478-1172.
