We’re now seeking applicants to join our Cookbook, Digital Media, Food Photography & Styling, and Food Writing Awards Committees. As a member of one of these committees you will review and judge entries to our awards. This year, in an effort to increase the diversity of our judges, we’ve opened our awards committees to non-members. Read on to learn more about our committees and how to apply to be a judge.
The ideal candidate is excited to review approximately what may be about 40 books (and test recipes for some categories), maintains strict confidentiality, possesses a critical and artistic eye, and is committed to meeting exact deadlines. This individual must also be tech savvy and have the ability to fill out online forms and open reports. Judges must reside within the continental United States.
Please be sure to review the timeline presented on the application to make sure you are fully available during the judging period. Important note: If you judged the 2018 IACP Cookbook Awards, you are not eligible to serve on this year’s Cookbook Awards Committee. We encourage you to apply to the Digital Media, Food Photography & Styling, or Food Writing award committees instead.
Judges should be passionate and knowledgeable about the subject matter of their committee, whether it be food writing, photography and styling, or the digital side of culinary media. Applicants should also be excellent at meeting deadlines and at adhering to strict confidentiality. You must also be tech savvy and have the ability to fill out online forms and open reports. Judges may reside internationally.
Deadline for submitting your application is December 17, 2018.
