Q: What are the Food Photography & Styling Awards?
A: The IACP Food Photography & Styling Awards are designed to recognize excellence in photography and food styling in both commercial and editorial realms. They shall be presented annually in conjunction with our other IACP awards.
Q: When is the submission deadline?
A: April 4, 2024.
Q: Who can enter the awards?
Our awards are open to all. You do not need to be an IACP member to submit. No one from the IACP board or staff nor IACP freelancers or sponsors, nor their immediate families, can enter or vote on the awards, nor know who the finalists or winners are in advance, with the exception of the IACP awards liaison. The IACP awards liaison cannot enter or vote on the awards, but will know the finalists and winners in advance to ensure the proper announcement of the finalists and winners.
Q: Do sponsors of the awards participate in judging or in choosing awards outcomes?
No. Sponsors do not participate in the judging of awards and have no say in the outcome. Sponsors only are told the identity of the category winner after the judging is complete.
Q: How much does it cost to enter?
A: Early Bird Entry Fee: January 11, 2024 – February 1, 2024, the entry fee is $25.00. Regular Entry Free: February 2, 2024 – April 4, 2024, the entry fee is $30.00.
Q: Can I enter more than one photograph?
A: Yes, you can enter as many as you’d like.
Q: What are my rights?
A: You retain all rights to any image you submit, including ownership if applicable.
If your image is selected as a finalist, you grant IACP a nonexclusive license to use your image in connection with the current, or any future contest and to promote the IACP Food Photography & Styling Awards. IACP will not use your image for any other purpose.
As a condition of this permission, IACP agrees to credit all images with the caption “© Copyright Holder’s Name.”
Q: How are winners chosen?
A: Judges consist of professionals, including food photographers, stylists, online publishers, web designers, photographers, art directors, marketing directors, magazine editors, academics, and brand experts will evaluate entries against a list of criteria detailed for each award category.
Q: When will winners be announced?
A: Finalists will be announced at the end of August 2024. Winners in each category will be announced at the IACP Awards Ceremony in the September 2024.
Q: Can I attend the Awards Ceremony?
A: Yes! All entrants are encouraged to attend. Date and location to be announced.
